Qualification update
OCR is currently reforming its GCSEs, AS and A Level in line with the government programme of general qualification reform. However, on 16 July 2015 the DfE announced that it was not possible to develop content for General Studies that met Ofqual’s principles for reformed AS and A Levels.
If you are looking for an alternative GCE level course to replace General Studies, we recommend our Extended Project qualification, which provides opportunities for extension and thematic study.
This specification allows learners to gain a greater perspective and a clearer understanding of the world they live in. General Studies is an excellent complement to all other A Level examinations, producing a more rounded, balanced world view on the part of the learner.
