AS & A Level Classics Specification

Qualification update

Our AS/A Level Classics provision is changing. As part of government changes to A-levels, the combined Classics qualifications (H038, H438) cannot be redeveloped. However, we have redeveloped AS/A Level Latin and AS/A Level Classical Greek for first teach in September 2016.

• AS/A Level GCE – Latin – H043, H443 (from 2016)
• AS/A Level GCE – Classical Greek – H044, H444 (from 2016)

We are also in the process of redeveloping AS/A Level Ancient History and AS/A Level Classical Civilisation for first teach in September 2017.

The Classics suite provides the opportunity for study of classical sources in their contexts. It is flexible, creative, fair and accessible. It reflects the reality of Classics in the classroom and Classics teaching today.
